Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

My first book for 2014! Yay!

So, I finally got my hands on this precious thing.

The story is all about Cath Avery, a Simon Snow fan. She writes fanfiction with her twin sister, Wren. Her sister has grown away from the Simon Snow fandom, which leaves Cath to fangirl all by herself. Now they are off to college, Wren doesn’t want to be roommates with her sister, so she is basically on her own. She got a roommate with  always-around boyfriend, a handsome classmate, a fiction-writing professor who thinks writing a fanfiction is stealing, and a lonesome father.

My review for the book:

Let’s start with the characters, so Cath, the protagonist in this story. She’s basically like one of us—a fangirl. She writes fanfiction, read fanfiction, obsess with the fandom etc. I was a bit irritated at her attitude at first, but as I lose myself in the story, I find her likeable. She is very close to her identical twin sister, until college were her sister decided to have a life. Sure, their looks are similar, but their personality are different, she always prefer to stay at her room to write fanfiction rather than going outside to socialize. Whereas, Wren her twin sister, prefers going out with her friends, getting drunk and meet other people. Their relationship here has a lot of ups and downs, but they managed to patch things up in the end. Then Raegan, Cath’s roommate, she’s awesome, she’s still friends with her ex, Levi (which Cath thought that they’re still dating) then, she caught Cath and Levi kissing, she doesn’t say anything instead she shrugged it off and took a shower, she’s like the anti-drama here. Next is Nick, Cath’s classmate, I liked him at first, but then he started to use Cath for his own sake (not cool man, not cool). Then there’s Levi *swoon*, he’s charming, he’s like a secret nerd. I love how his relationship with Cath developed. I love everything about him. I love how Cath handle her feelings, and how she took care of every situation she is facing, I love her courage.

All in all, I love every single thing about this book. It made me laugh, relate and cry a little. Kudos to Ms.Rainbow Rowell for making another beautiful novel.

I gave this book a 5 stars!

The Climate and its changes

Scientist and experts have warned us about the dangers of climate change. Little by little, the climate change is starting to affect our living. Our planet’s ozone layer is also affected by the it, to the point that our protection from the sun has started to thin out. Animals are starting to die, the common animals that most people see in the zoo has started to become endangered, while the endangered ones are almost, or, becoming, extinct. One of the most obvious effects of the climate change is the changes in weather. The once warm summer season had become too hot for us to handle, the scorching heat can almost burn our skin or worst case scenario, give us skin cancer, while winter and rainy became too cold.                            As a responsible citizen, we can do something to prevent the worsening of the climate. We could start acting like a responsible citizen by separating our wastes from biodegradable to non-biodegradable. We can also start planting trees to some

Beautiful Disaster & Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
